Chanel Rouge Allure in Mythic #69

I just recently started to get back into Chanel makeup. I have to admit I really really wanted to buy a Rouge Allure Lipstick just because of the packaging. You press the gold interlocking C symbol at the top of the case to release the lipstick, and the black case itself is glass, I believe. Needless to say, it is GORGEOUS. Of course I ONLY ever wear nudes, usually light to medium beiges with neutral undertones. And that's exactly what Mythic is :] I love the fact that it's quite moisturizing and light but it still has good pigmentation and wear-time. The formula is smooth and feels nice on the lips but I wish it were just a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit more opaque. I guess that just leaves room for layering with either a lipliner or a gloss. I like to wear Mythic on it's own for a nice neutral nude lip look, but I particularly like to pair it with Chanel's lipliner in Peche, and Chanel's gloss in Insouciance for a more complex and polished peachy nude lip.

Yeah I know- $35 is super pricey for one lipstick. You can buy a similar lipstick from MAC for $16. You could even buy a lipstick from Revlon similar to Mythic for about $8. But the packaging is beautiful, and it's just fun to have a cute little mechanism like this in your bag. And of course, it's Chanel :] Who doesn't love Chanel!? I think that though it's totally not necessary to own lots of Rouge Allures, it is good to splurge on a few, especially if you're a makeup collector/connoisseur like so many of us are. If you want a cheaper alternative to Chanel's Mythic, check out MAC's lipsticks in Creme d'Nude and High Tea, or if you're looking for a drug-store alternative, I would say that Revlon's Colorburst lipstick in Soft Nude is kinda similar, though a little bit lighter.

Are you into nudes? What's your favorite? Do you like Chanel's Rouge Allure formula? Let me know what you think :]

(I used a picture of the lipstick that I found on Google, and I've sourced the link below...)

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Lipstick in Tea Rose #148

YSL's Rouge Pur Lipstick in Tea Rose is probably the most versatile and wearable nude lipstick I've ever encountered. It's an intensely gorgeous nude, with equal amounts of peach and pink. There are many nude lipsticks out there like this, but none of them are exactly the same as Tea Rose. I first discovered this color a while back, maybe 2 or 3 years ago in my friend's makeup collection. I liked it but I didn't really think too much of it because at the time, it was too pink for my liking. I then saw that Lorraine Stanick, also known as TheCurrentCustom on YouTube wore this quite often, as it was her favorite lipstick. I now consider this to be one of my own personal favorites now too :] It has a very creamy consistency, and being a Rouge Pur, is very well-pigmented. I can wear this color at daytime or nighttime with any makeup look and it looks perfect. It's a light-medium nude but I feel like it's warm-toned and pink enough to where anyone can wear this color. It's so pretty, and all YSL products come in the most beauuuuuutiful golden packaging :] I think next time I'm at a big Nordstrom I'm gonna have to pick up another one of these babies. Yes, it's just THAT pretty<33333 If you're ever had troubles with nude lipsticks looking too pale or too peach or too pink or too pasty on your lips, swatch or try on Tea Rose when you get the chance- You will probably love it. And need it. And you just might not be able to live without it :]

MAC's Creme d'Nude Lipstick

MAC's Creme d'Nude is another one of my all-time-favorite can't-leave-the-house-without nude lipsticks<33333 Creme d'Nude. Isn't that such a pretty thing to say? The name says it all- It's CREAMY and it's NUDE :] The two biggest requirements I have for a lipstick!!! It's so lovely to have this stuff on the lips- you can't go wrong with a super-creamy pink-toned light beige peachy nude. It gives you that gorgeous Brigitte Bardot/Audrey Hepburn look in just a few swipes. Being a Cremesheen, it feels like a like a rich lip-balm but still has pretty nice pigmentation. And one thing that I can never get enough of is the SMELL of MAC's lipsticks. It's a subtle vanilla scent- I've had people in the past that my lips smelled like ice cream hahahahaha... Creme d'Nude's close family members include Myth, Fleshpot, Hue, and other light nudes. But of course, Creme d'Nude's the prettiest, and in my case, very wearable. It doesn't give me the whole chalk-lip/zombie look in the way Myth does. I like mixing it with darker colors sometimes, like Hug Me and Freckletone. Then again, you can mix it with any colors you want, I'd stick to pinks, peaches, and nudes though. I'm forever rockin a dramatic smokey eye, so nude lips are naturally my favorite lip-look :] So now's the time I ask you- what are your thoughts and opinions on MAC's Creme d'Nude? Is it one of your staple nude lipsticks? Or do you find that it's too pale for your skin-tone and washes you out? We all have different skin-tones and different lip-colors, different preferences and different aesthetics, so let me know how Creme d'Nude works on you!! :] If you don't already own this beautiful shade, you can check it out at your local MAC stores and MAC counters, or you can pick it up from MAC's website :]

MAC's High Tea Lipstick: A Gorgeous Sheer Nude

I was at The Grove (mall) the other day in L.A. and I stopped by the MAC store to pick a few things up... I bought a few things but the one thing I'm most interested in is High Tea lipstick. It's a really nice color- a medium pink-ish nude. What I like most about this color is how SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER it is. When I put this super creamy lipstick on, it literally just gives the slightest amount of color, and a lot of shine. It's kind of like a lipgloss in lipstick form. It's a very moisturizing formula- it feels smooth and slippery on the lips. I like that I can wear this whenever I don't want to look too made up. It's a great daytime nude lipstick. I also like wearing this lipstick layered on top of or underneath another much more pigmented lipstick to help sheer it out a bit. If you're looking for a very sheer yet VERY PRETTY medium pink nude lipstick, DEFINITELY pick up High Tea today!!!! It won't wash you out, it won't make you look dead or sickly, and it won't dry your lips out. It has very neutral tones, so you can wear it whether you have warm or cool undertones. I feel like this is a lipstick that EVERY nude lip lover should have in their collection!!! Is anyone else loving this lipstick right now too!?!? Let me know ;]

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Nude

Revlon Colorburst lipsticks are amazing quality for the price... They're really smooth and creamy and highly pigmented. They're very inexpensive- You can pick them up at Wal-Mart for like $7. My favorite one is in Soft Nude, which is a light creamy beige color. It's an exact dupe for MAC's Creme d'Nude lipstick. This color is pretty light so it can very easily wash you out and make you look kinda dead if you don't wear it correctly. To keep myself from looking like a zombie, I like to wear Soft Nude over a medium nude lipstick, like Honeylove or Hug Me from MAC. Soft Nude looks great worn under all different types of lipglosses... I like mixing it with everything from nudes to peaches to pinks. If you do wear it on it's own though, you should probably just put on a little bit of it onto your lips and then blend it out with a lip brush or your finger. If you're at Wal-Mart or CVS, I totally recommend you pick this lipstick up! You can never have too many nudes :]

MAC's Viva Glam Gaga II Lipstick

I went to the mall yesterday and when I was at Nordstrom OF COURSE I had to go check out the new Viva Glam Gaga II Lipstick because I had seen swatches of it online and I KNEW that I'd love it. I DID. OMG. This is TOTALLY my favorite lipstick right now :] It's SUCH a gorgeous nude for my skintone... Viva Glam Gaga II is described as a light neutral pinked beige. I feel as though it's more of a medium nude though, with subtle peach undertones.  Seriously I feel like it's the nude lipstick I've been waiting for for all of these years. I know it looks a lot like many of MAC's other nude lipsticks, but this one just seems to be perfect... And the formula is Amplified so it's super-pigmented.... I don't have to build this stuff up like lots of other lipsticks. The texture of this lipstick is super creamy and moisturizing... I seriously can't say enough about VGGG2 :] And of course I love the fact that 100% of the proceeds of MAC's Viva Glam products are donated to funding for AIDS research. I recommend this to anyone that likes warm-medium beige nude lipsticks... Anyone that wants to help fund AIDS research, and anyone that loves Lady Gaga<333 I'm probably gonna go back to the mall later on a pick up a few more of these :]

MAC Honeylove Lipstick

Honeylove is the first lipstick I ever bought from MAC... I was still in high school when I started wearing this shade. It's a gorgeous warm-toned medium nude with just the right amount of pink. It's one of those awesome nudes that doesn't wash you out/make you look like a ghost. I especially love wearing this lipstick when I have a tan. It looks great as a base lipstick for a nude lip- I like to wear Myth or Creme d'Nude over it a lot of the time. It has a matte texture but it's not drying at all. I personally feel that Honeylove is flattering on a broader range of skin-tones and loves great alone or under a nude gloss. It's still one of my go-to lipsticks after all these years for a reason :] Anyone else love Honeylove? Check it out when you get the chance... you just might love it!!!!!

MAC HUG ME- A WARM & WONDERFUL NUDE FOR FALL

While makeup shopping with a friend about two years back, I came to the sudden conclusion that I should buy more tan-nude lipsticks to add to my collection. I've always been a fan of wearing a warm beige nude all over my lips then applying a lighter shade to just the center of my lips. The sales associate picked out a handful of more "tan nudes" that I purchased without even trying on. They looked good in the store, and fortunately I was happy with all of them :]

At first, I though this color was little too dark for me. Honestly though, it kind of just blends into my skin-tone. It's probably a shade or so darker than my NW30 complexion, but it doesn't look gross-brown on my lips at all, fortunately. It's a lot better than having concealer lips. It's a really pretty pinkish-tan nude that gives you that J.Lo/Kim K look. It looks amazing on, I love how warm it is. It looks even better if you have a tan :] Being a Lustre, it's super-creamy and rich and feels very luxe on the lips. To me, it really feels like a YSL Rouge Volupte, so silky-buttery smooth. It's not drying at all, in fact it's the complete opposite. It feels just like a lip-balm on. It's pretty versatile, you could wear it with any look, although I do prefer wearing Hug Me when I have an extremely dramatic smokey eye going on. I would recommend this color to everyone, except the super-pale, because it might show up as brown on someone with a very light complexion. SO, who here uses Hug Me lipstick!? Is it something you reach for often? Or does it sit in your "do-not-use" makeup drawer? If you DO wear Hug Me, what kind of looks do you tend to wear it with? Just wondering :]

MAC MYTH. THE PERFECT NUDE?

I have always been on the hunt for the perfect nude lipstick. I wear a dramatic smokey eye every night, so of course I need a very neutral lip that will help balance out my face when I have a lot going on with my eyes. I always wanted a peachy beige tone that would nude out the pigmentation in my own lips, without looking too much like concealer. I've literally purchased dozens of nude lipsticks, if not hundreds. Although I don't think Myth is the PERFECT nude for me, I do absolutely LOVE this color and use it very often. Myth is described as a "pale, flesh-toned slightly peach-pink tinged nude." That being said, I am not pale. When I wear this color on it's own, I look dead, or very cold. That's usually not the look I'm going for, so I usually wear another nude lipstick a shade or two darker underneath of Myth. Then, I put a nude gloss over this :] Myth is a gorgeous lipstick with a satin finish, and happens to be very pigmented. It can show up as opaque on your lips with very little effort, that's probably one of the reason why I love it so much. And it shows up great in photos :] You can pile it on for a dramatically pale nude lip, or wear it with other lippies to neutralize them a bit. If you aren't eating or drinking, it stays on for about 4 or 5 hours, which makes me happy. So, has anyone else tried Myth? Or use it on a daily basis? Let me know what you think about it :]
