Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Corail

This blush is divinely gorgeous<3333 It's a beautiful rosey peach blush with a silky smooth texture. It has a gorgeous glow to it- it's not frosty or glittery and really has no visible shimmer in it. When you first use it, there's the tiniest amount of golden over-spray but that goes away literally after the first use. The Chanel "Les Tissages" blushes are stamped into a design which is supposed to resemble the texture of Chanel's classic tweed suits. This color is perfect for those that like subtle colors- it's called a coral, but to me it's a peach. I really like it. It's something I would wear year round, but I know a lot of Chanel fans would probably tend to wear this mostly during Spring. I just like the fact that it's not so deep and overly pigmented like so many other blushes I own. Like Coco always said- makeup should be used to enhance, not adorn :] I'm sure there are many other peach blushes out there for much less than $50, but this blush is just so pretty and versatile and although quite delicate, I feel as though "Tweed Corail" has a lot to say.
As usual, feel free to add me as a friend, comment my posts, follow me, etc :] I took the pictures<3333

Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Black Star

I have a major obsession with black eyeshadows, especially black eyeshadows with glitter in them. I also have an obsession with anything Chanel. When I saw Chanel's Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Black Star sitting on display at the Chanel counter, I added it to my purchases that day without a second thought. It's a beautiful charcoal black eyeshadow with silver glitter and finer multi-colored reflects floating throughout it. It's a mature, more refined/sophisticated version of MAC's Blacktied eyeshadow. It has beautiful pigmentation- it's easy to pack this stuff on, and it sparkles beautifully. It's really pretty when you wear it all over the lid, then blended at the crease, but sometimes when I want a subtle/more sophisticated look. I'll wear Black Star as a liner with a pretty peach-toned nude eyeshadow, like Night Star by NARS. Black Star is gorgeous when worn in the crease too. It blends perfectly without losing intensity (when you use the right base and brush), and I find that it has amazing staying power- it lasts longer than Blacktied, in my opinion. Something unique about it too, is that it tends to have less fallout than other eyeshadows similar to it. Perhaps it's packed and pressed better? Either way I love it, and it's the perfect eyeshadow to wear out at night :] If you want a cheaper alternative, I suggest Night Breed by NARS and Blacktied by MAC. These shadows are all pretty similar but different enough in texture to make me puchase them all. Maybe later on I'll do a compare/contrast post on them. If you'd like an even cheaper alternative, I've bought shadows from Sonia Kashuk, Flirt, and WetNWild that were all excellent dupes :] I did my best to photgraph Black Star's beauty, but I definitely recommend checking it out at the Chanel counter- swatch it and prepare to fall in love<33333

Chanel Glossimer in Constellation

I was at the Chanel counter at the Macy's in Beverly Center looking at makeup when I just decided to splurge on some things. I love impulse buying<33333 One of the things I picked up that day was this GORGEOUS lip gloss. Constellation to me is a very sheer peachy pink gloss with lots of fine glitter running through it. The glitter is mostly gold, but there are lots of other colors floating through it, making it look like a "constellation." In the sunlight, I can see lots of blue, pink, green, and violet colored glitter floating in it too. It reminds me of a much prettier, much more sophisticated MAC Dazzleglass. But alas, it's Chanel, so it's much more lux :] I feel as though Chanel Glossimers have a plumping property to them. Not in a painful burning way, but in a way that just makes your lips look and feel bigger and more lush and so much smoother. It's hard to explain, you'd just have to try one on and sit there for a few minutes. Uggghhhhh glossimers are just so eye-catching and truly beautiful, especially in the right lighting<3333 As obsessed with lipstick as I am, I surprisingly just like to wear Glossimers on their own :] I feel like the glitter/shimmer can be seen so much better and it's just such a fresh flattering look. Of course, they do look amazing over lipstick as well though. I like to dab them on top rather than brush the product in, to avoid dulling the glittering properties of the gloss. Look closely at the picture above- I tried my best to capture Constellation's beauty with a digital camera and indoor lighting lol... Tell me what you think<3333333

A Few Of My Favorite Cosmetics Purchases From The Past Month Or Two...

Yes, I've been doing quite a bit of shopping over the past month or so, and YES, most of it has been for makeup :] I love it all... I don't know why I'm so obsessed with it, but I am. I love compacts and tubes and jars and palettes, and I especially love NARS, Chanel, YSL, MAC and Dior :] I'm going to be reviewing most of the "fun" things I've picked up lately. I've really gotten back into Chanel lately, and I've been buying fragrances a little more often too. I will forever love my black eyeshadows and my nude lipsticks<3333 A lot of these products have probably already been talked about by like everyone and their mom. Some of them I may have already reviewed in the past, but sometimes when I re-purchase an item and try it out all over again, I tend to have a different experience with it. But I really don't care hahahahaha I love to put my two cents out there :] I've photographed each item individually for each review- I'm SO not good at taking pictures of things. I'm only ever awake at night, and of course it's hard to take good quality pictures of things in indoor lighting- but hopefully the pictures will be clear enough to be helpful, hahahaha... I'm still getting used to this stuff. Tell me about some products you've picked up lately that you're really excited about!!!!

Chanel Cosmetics Fall 2011: Illusion d'Ombres

Chanel's latest cosmetics launch: Illusion d'Ombres (Illusion of Shadows) has just recently hit stores for Fall. I'm a huge fan of Chanel makeup, and I love that they've introduced some new products this season- I've been wanting some new textures lately, and I like that this line has a little bit of something for everyone. The standout item this season is the cream shadow, which is a silicone-gel formula. They're supposed to be "intensely shimmery" and really easy to blend. It's available in six shades, they look as though they'll be gorgeous either on their own, or layered with other products to create the perfect smokey eye look. I haven't been to the mall in like a week or so, so I haven't had the chance to see this collection in person yet. I'm curious as to how the cream shadows will wear. I've heard some rumors that these are supposed to be Chanel's version of Giorgio Armani's "Eyes to Kill" Silk Shadows, which I believe are beautiful as well. The Chanel cream shadows, however are a little more pricey, though they do come with a brush I've heard. I really love the color palette of this collection- and I love that the concept of the collection is loosely based on the ever-popular smokey eye, pinky nude lip concept. I'm excited for this collection, but I think the cream shadows are of course overpriced at almost $40 each. ($36+tax) So what do you think so far? Don't these pieces look enticing? I can't wait to swatch them :]

Chanel's Double Perfection Compact Powder Foundation

Chanel's Double Perfection Powder Foundation is a product that has been in and out of my life for years now. I remember the first time I ever bought this stuff must have been when I was like 16. I've always loved powder foundation because my skin tends to be kinda oily, and it's really easy to carry and apply on the go. I also like that powder foundations tend to give a nice "soft focus" effect to the skin while still looking much more natural than most liquid and cream foundations. I've thought a little bit about it, and I think the thing I do enjoy most about this stuff, though, is the beautiful glossy black case with the white interlocking C Chanel logo in the center of it. It's so pretty and looks nice when you pull it out of your bag to look at yourself and touch up. It has nice coverage, and great staying power, and what I think separates this stuff from most other powder foundation is it's ability to be layered without getting too cakey. It looks very natural when buffed into the skin and it keeps me from getting shiny which is a major PLUS. Yes, it's nice, but I honestly don't feel as though it's worth the $55. It's a wonderful product, but I feel like it's not TOO far superior of MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation, or many other department store powder foundations, for that matter. I've always thought, though, that you do indeed get what you pay for when you buy makeup, and I'll leave it at that :] So what do you think about Chanel's Double Perfection Powder Foundation? Do you think it's much better than anything else? Or do agree with me in saying it's a lot like the others? What's your favorite powder foundation? Let me know what you think :]

Chanel Rouge Allure in Mythic #69

I just recently started to get back into Chanel makeup. I have to admit I really really wanted to buy a Rouge Allure Lipstick just because of the packaging. You press the gold interlocking C symbol at the top of the case to release the lipstick, and the black case itself is glass, I believe. Needless to say, it is GORGEOUS. Of course I ONLY ever wear nudes, usually light to medium beiges with neutral undertones. And that's exactly what Mythic is :] I love the fact that it's quite moisturizing and light but it still has good pigmentation and wear-time. The formula is smooth and feels nice on the lips but I wish it were just a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit more opaque. I guess that just leaves room for layering with either a lipliner or a gloss. I like to wear Mythic on it's own for a nice neutral nude lip look, but I particularly like to pair it with Chanel's lipliner in Peche, and Chanel's gloss in Insouciance for a more complex and polished peachy nude lip.

Yeah I know- $35 is super pricey for one lipstick. You can buy a similar lipstick from MAC for $16. You could even buy a lipstick from Revlon similar to Mythic for about $8. But the packaging is beautiful, and it's just fun to have a cute little mechanism like this in your bag. And of course, it's Chanel :] Who doesn't love Chanel!? I think that though it's totally not necessary to own lots of Rouge Allures, it is good to splurge on a few, especially if you're a makeup collector/connoisseur like so many of us are. If you want a cheaper alternative to Chanel's Mythic, check out MAC's lipsticks in Creme d'Nude and High Tea, or if you're looking for a drug-store alternative, I would say that Revlon's Colorburst lipstick in Soft Nude is kinda similar, though a little bit lighter.

Are you into nudes? What's your favorite? Do you like Chanel's Rouge Allure formula? Let me know what you think :]

Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel

Coco Mademoiselle is an absolutely luxurious and elegrant fragrance that was release by Chanel back in 2001. My aunt bought me a bottle of this stuff as a present a few years ago, and I really like it :] There's a lot going on with this beautiful perfume, with notes of sicilian oranges, Calabrian bergamot and Sicilian grapefruit. It's floral heart is created with pure rose extract and pure jasmine extract, along with a fruity touch of litchi, while its base notes carry a combination of Indonesian patchouli, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla ad white musk. Yeah, there are MANY layers in Coco Mademoiselle. I don't wear it often- I spritz it on sometimes when I need to feel a little more sophisticated hahahaha... Like when I'm going out to dinner or something. Chanel really does make a lot of gorgeous scents that come in the most beautiful bottles!!! So, are you a fan of Coco Mademoiselle!?!? Tell me if you are<3333333

Chance by Chanel

Chanel by Chanel has been one of my off again on again favorite perfumes for years- I'm surprised at how long this stuff has been around!!! Lol time flies when you're smellin good :] Okay seriously, I love how sophisticated and refined this fragrance is. A lot of people called it feminine and flirty... I guess it is, but I just love how this stuff makes you feel when you're wearing it. It's such a rich and refreshing perfume, but it's not in any way overwhelming. It's a fruity floral- It's notes are white musk, hyacinth and citron, pink pepper, jasmine, fresh vetiver, orris absolute and amber patchouli. Chance is very elegant, and you're guaranteed to get lots of complements when you wear it :] Does anyone else love Chance?? <333

Chanel's Beige Guitare Glossimer

While browsing my local Chanel counter a few months back, the Beige Guitare Glossimer instantly caught my eye. As soon as I saw it, I pretty much knew I NEEDED it. I grabbed it, swatched it on the back of my hand, and made it part of my purchases that day. By now, anyone who has read a few of my posts knows that I'm sickeningly OBSESSED with a nude lip. I love any nude lip product, from peaches to pinks, from pale beiges to tans. Beige Guitare is a perfect gloss to slather on top of all of my favorite nude lipsticks. It doesn't have much pigment, but it has the most beautiful effect on the lips. It's a sheer beige with a very subtle peachy pink sparkle. The shimmer is not at all overwhelming though, and really dresses up any boring lip color. On it's own, it doesn't do too much. It helps mute the lips just the smallest amount, and looks amazing with a smokey eye and peach blush (of course). Being a Chanel gloss, it comes in the most luxurious square-ish shaped tube with a black and gold top. It has a very smooth formula and isn't sticky at all. It was very pricey at around $30, but it's not easy for a nude lip lover to say no to this beautiful shimmering gloss. Unfortunately, it's also Limited Edition. I haven't seen anything similar to this color, but I'll of course be on the look-out for any lipgloss that looks like Beige Guitare<33333 So, anyone else love this gloss? What's your favorite glossimer? Lemme know :]

Chanel Glossimer in Sunset Gold

I was at the Chanel counter checking out their latest collection and swatching lipglosses when I came across this beautiful Glossimer. Sunset Gold appears to be a gorgeous glittery golden light-bronzey apricot color. I swatched it, and thought it was gorgeous. I'm not one for bronze on the lips, but this wasn't dark and muddy at all and I thought it would add the perfect color/dimension to deepen/warm up some of my favorite pale nude lipsticks like MAC's Myth and Creme d'Nude. It was very pricey at $30 but I don't mind paying that much for a high end gloss if the color is gorgeous and the formula is silky and not sticky. For some reason makeup always looks better in the store than it does once you take it out into the real world hahahaha...  and Chanel's packaging is soooooo pretty that I sometimes can't say no to certain items, lol...

Although I was initially impressed with this color, it shows up clear on my super-pigmented lips. It just gave a little bit of shine and not even all that much shimmer or glitter. It didn't do much over lipsticks either. So this color is not really one of my favorites right now. I was hoping for more than Sunset Gold was will to offer. Chanel Glossimers seem to be pretty hit or miss for me. I tend to find more of them that I love that dislike though. I guess I'll just use this stuff on top of a medium nude lipstick in the place of a clear gloss. I like that it's not sticky but I was really hoping for more pigmentation and a prettier effect. I have more than enough clear/sheer glosses. But, the packaging is super luxe, and you can never have too many lipglosses, sheer or not, so I'll keep Sunset Gold around just because it's pretty and looks good with all the rest of my Glossimers :] Anyone else have Sunset Gold or a similar color? What's your favorite Chanel Glossimer?

Our Favorite Luxury Brand Cosmetics. Quality or a Gimmick? Tell Me Your Thoughts/I Want Your Opinions!!!!

Okay. How many of you will agree with me that all luxury makeup products are completely over-priced? I can't help but buy as many of these little black compacts as I can. Expensive makeup makes me really happy and I just love the experience of walking into my favorite department store and swatching things and talking to Sales Associates about products. Realistically, however, I know that production costs of my favorite makeup is nowhere near its retail price at all. It's something we're all well aware of but we keep it in the back of our heads. We know we have pay the big bucks for the things we love the most. I guess. Some mineral powder, pigments, glitter and preservatives pressed together in a little black compact. Seems like nothing, right? However, when shopping a brand such as......... NARS, I seem to have no problem spending $25 on a single eyeshadow, or about $30 on a single blush. My favorite NARS powder foundation was about $50. Just yesterday I bought more Chanel makeup, and a simple lip gloss was over $30. It's not all that amazing either. I honestly could've bought one at Wal-Mart for like 5 bucks and gotten the same results. I just really like Chanel's packaging. I want to know what you all think? Are these cosmetics really worth the amount that we pay for them? I'm the first one to throw my money at the lady behind the makeup counter, but I have just recently started thinking... "Are they really worth that much?" I feel like such a sucker sometimes. Another thing that's been annoying me lately is the term "Limited Edition." A lot of us have become panic shoppers because of those two nasty words. I have found myself buying something simply because not many of that product will be made. I read about an amazing item in a new collection coming out and I hear YouTube beauty people rave about it endlessly, so of course I purchase it without even swatching it hahahaha... I also tend to buy multiples/backups of things just in case I really like them and need more after I run out. However, I don't think I've ever really used a cosmetic item in it's entirety in the whole amount of time I've been wearing cosmetics. I also tend to buy lots and lots of products that look exactly the same, but that's a WHOLE other story hahahaha... I've come to the conclusion that cosmetic companies will continue to charge as much as people will pay. So if you want something nice, expect to pay a lot for it. Let me know how you feel about this situation. Are you in the same position as me? Do you find yourself blinded by the glare bouncing off the YSL compact? Or are you a practical shopper that only buys exactly what you need? And lastly, what percentage do you think our favorite makeup products are marked up?
