Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Black Star

I have a major obsession with black eyeshadows, especially black eyeshadows with glitter in them. I also have an obsession with anything Chanel. When I saw Chanel's Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Black Star sitting on display at the Chanel counter, I added it to my purchases that day without a second thought. It's a beautiful charcoal black eyeshadow with silver glitter and finer multi-colored reflects floating throughout it. It's a mature, more refined/sophisticated version of MAC's Blacktied eyeshadow. It has beautiful pigmentation- it's easy to pack this stuff on, and it sparkles beautifully. It's really pretty when you wear it all over the lid, then blended at the crease, but sometimes when I want a subtle/more sophisticated look. I'll wear Black Star as a liner with a pretty peach-toned nude eyeshadow, like Night Star by NARS. Black Star is gorgeous when worn in the crease too. It blends perfectly without losing intensity (when you use the right base and brush), and I find that it has amazing staying power- it lasts longer than Blacktied, in my opinion. Something unique about it too, is that it tends to have less fallout than other eyeshadows similar to it. Perhaps it's packed and pressed better? Either way I love it, and it's the perfect eyeshadow to wear out at night :] If you want a cheaper alternative, I suggest Night Breed by NARS and Blacktied by MAC. These shadows are all pretty similar but different enough in texture to make me puchase them all. Maybe later on I'll do a compare/contrast post on them. If you'd like an even cheaper alternative, I've bought shadows from Sonia Kashuk, Flirt, and WetNWild that were all excellent dupes :] I did my best to photgraph Black Star's beauty, but I definitely recommend checking it out at the Chanel counter- swatch it and prepare to fall in love<33333
As usual, please feel free to comment my posts, add me as a friend, say hi, or follow me :]

Chanel Glossimer in Constellation

I was at the Chanel counter at the Macy's in Beverly Center looking at makeup when I just decided to splurge on some things. I love impulse buying<33333 One of the things I picked up that day was this GORGEOUS lip gloss. Constellation to me is a very sheer peachy pink gloss with lots of fine glitter running through it. The glitter is mostly gold, but there are lots of other colors floating through it, making it look like a "constellation." In the sunlight, I can see lots of blue, pink, green, and violet colored glitter floating in it too. It reminds me of a much prettier, much more sophisticated MAC Dazzleglass. But alas, it's Chanel, so it's much more lux :] I feel as though Chanel Glossimers have a plumping property to them. Not in a painful burning way, but in a way that just makes your lips look and feel bigger and more lush and so much smoother. It's hard to explain, you'd just have to try one on and sit there for a few minutes. Uggghhhhh glossimers are just so eye-catching and truly beautiful, especially in the right lighting<3333 As obsessed with lipstick as I am, I surprisingly just like to wear Glossimers on their own :] I feel like the glitter/shimmer can be seen so much better and it's just such a fresh flattering look. Of course, they do look amazing over lipstick as well though. I like to dab them on top rather than brush the product in, to avoid dulling the glittering properties of the gloss. Look closely at the picture above- I tried my best to capture Constellation's beauty with a digital camera and indoor lighting lol... Tell me what you think<3333333

Nails of the Day... OPI Baby It's Coal Outside with Wet N Wild's Kaleidoscope

I just found the upload cord for my camera and I wanted to upload this picture really quick. I took a picture of my nails the other day. This is a nail polish look I've been enjoying lately- the base is OPI's Baby It's Coal Outside, which is a black cream with silver shimmer and multi-colored reflects. Then on top of it, I put my new favorite holographic glitter polish from Wet N Wild, "Kaleidoscope." (I've done reviews of both polishes on here...) I'm not good at photography at all, I just wanted to share this combination. And don't mind the band-aid lol... I had a tiny scrape from a piece of glass... But yeah, this is what I really like on my nails right now :] I'll hopefully start taking more of my own pictures now instead of using Google images so often lol

Wet 'N Wild's Wild Shine Nail Polish in "Kaleidoscope"

This nail polish is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! Go to Wal-Mart as soon as you can and buy it!!!! It's a clear nail polish with holographic glitter floating through it. This glitter is mostly silver, but shines all different colors in the light. I like to layer Kaleidoscope on top of other nail polishes but I think it's much prettier on it's own. I usually put a few layers on to build up the intensity of the glitter. This stuff is eye-catchingly beautiful and it's ONLY like a dollar or two!!!! It's a perfect dupe for China Glaze's Nail Polish in Fairy Dust, but I actually prefer the WNW version :] I'll be posting pictures with this stuff on pretty soon- the picture I'm putting up from Google doesn't do this polish any justice... This stuff is so gorgeous and so inexpensive that I'll definitely be buying more soon :]

Deborah Lippman Glitter Nail Polish in "Happy Birthday"

Happy Birthday by Deborah Lippman is currently my favorite nail polish!!!! It's soooooooo gorgeous... If you aren't familiar with this stuff, swatch it next time you're at Nordstrom or somewhere that carries DL polishes... It's a clear gel base that's densely packed with lots and lots of multi-colored glitter. It's seriously one of the prettiest, most interesting polishes I've ever seen, and I've really been into glitter polishes lately. It really pops when layered over a base color, especially black, but I really enjoy just wearing Happy Birthday on it's own. It's so fun and it looks AMAZING when sparkling in the sunlight<33333 Yeah, I agree, $20 for a nail polish is a lot. However, I feel like you can get sooooooo many uses out of this one bottle that it's totally worth it in the end. But, if you're a budget shopper, Wet N Wild has a perfect dupe for Happy Birthday called "Party of Five Glitters," which is much cheaper at only $2 a bottle! They're literally just about the same thing. I've just found, though, in the past that some Wet N Wild polishes tend to chip easily though so if you want a longer lasting manicure when using their products, I just recommend using a good quality top coat. Let me know what you think about Happy Birthday!!! Are you into glitter polishes too? :]

(I used a picture I found on Google Images :])

MAC's Blacktied Eyeshadow

Blacktied is another gorgeous dark color from MAC's permanent collection. It also happens to be another one of my favorite colors, because it looks absolutely AMAZING in a smokey eye<3333 It's a dark charcoal loaded with fine silver glitter. It has awesome pigmentation and blends out pretty nicely for me. I usually wear Blacktied all over the lid, from the lashlines to the crease, with a gorgeous silver color like Silver Ring or Idol Eyes on the inner corners. I tend to get a lot of fallout with Blacktied but I'm able to avoid making a big mess by using a sticky black base and tapping my brush off before applying it to my eyelids. Sometimes I use it just in the crease, and I especially love setting my eyeliner with it because it gives just the prettiest sparkle to my lashlines<333 Blacktied is an awesome eyeshadow to have in your collection, especially if you're a big fan of the smokey eye look like I am. And it's just so pretty with all that silver glitter in it :] Anyone else love Blacktied? Let me know how you wear this eyeshadow...

MAC Dazzleglass in Bare Necessity

I've been collecting nude lip glosses for years now... I just love all different kinds of nudes from pale to dark, flat to glittery, sheer to highly pigmented. I was picking some stuff up at the MAC counter when MAC's Dazzleglass in Bare Necessity caught my eye. When I swatched it on the back of my hand, it was so unique that I just had to have it :] It's super sheer, in fact it shows up as clear on my very pigmented lips. I guess I'll just have to wear this stuff on top of some nude lipstick... It has loads of gorgeous microscopic glitter in it, mostly magenta and just a little bit of gold glitter as well. This stuff shines so brilliantly in sunlight, even though I prefer to wear Dazzleglasses at nighttime. I love the consistency of MAC's Dazzleglasses, as they're nowhere near as sticky as regular lipglasses. One thing that I hate, though, is that Dazzleglasses are about $20 after tax and only contain about 2 grams of product. Regular lipglasses are about $16 after tax and contain nearly 5 grams of product. But I guess you have to pay the price for what you want, which is all those beautiful little sparkles :] Does anyone else love Dazzleglasses? What's your favorite one?

BEAUTYMARKED EYESHADOW. CREATURE OF THE NIGHT.

Beautymarked is one of my favorite eyeshadows from MAC's permanent collection, if not my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. It's a gorgeous velvety black eyeshadow with LOTS of reddish burgundy glitter. I remember first buying it many years ago because I saw it sitting on the eyeshadow display at the MAC counter and thought to myself that I'd never really seen anything like that at all. Since then, Over the years, I have used copious amounts of this smoldering color. To this day, I have not found a similar eyeshadow that's as intensely pigmented, rich, gorgeous and glittery as this beautiful color. I've seen lots of eyeshadows slightly similar, but no other company has really been able to duplicate it. I've always been drawn to dark colors. The darker, the better. I'm terribly addicted to black eyeshadows, and I just cannot resist a black eyeshadow that contains shimmer or reflects. I love richly pigmented vampy shades that look amazing when used to create a smokey eye. Beautymarked is extremely pigmented. It is easily grabbed by eyeshadow brushes, and yes, it shows up exactly on the eye as it does in the pan. I've found, however, that if you want all of the red reflects to show up on your eyes, you have to use a sticky eyeshadow base or else the glitter will get eaten by your brush instead of adhering to your eyelid. In the past, I've had some trouble with fallout from Beautymarked, but after a while of using this color, you'll learn how to apply it in a way that avoids creating fallout. I've seen that a lot of people will use this color to line their eyes, or they'll wear it in the crease or to smoke out their outer V. Personally, my favorite way to wear it is all over my lid, from lashline to crease, then blended out very well. It looks good with just a little big of a shimmery silver or white color on the inner corner, and I usually don't care to wear a highlight color on my brow-bone. Sometimes too much highlight can take away from the effect of a dramatic smokey eye. Is anyone else completely obsessed with this color? Anyone have it but not use it very often? Tell me about your experience with Beautymarked... How do you like to wear it?
